GPS Tracking
Devices
You may not know it, but GPS tracking
devices are everywhere around you. You probably
have one in your cellular phone. It is possible that you
have one on your car, though that is not something that
happens very often. This technology can locate someone
within a few feet of where they are, and it has some very
good uses. However, it can also be used as an invasion of
privacy if used by the wrong person for the wrong reasons.
Find out what this can do for you.
If you have GPS tracking devices in your phone, you have a
few options. It is not legal for anyone to find you this way,
but you may want to leave it on. Some phones have the option of
leaving the GPS tracking devices on for use of 911 only. That
might mean it kicks on once 911 has been dialed. If you are in
a car accident in a remote place, that GPS may be the only way
that you are found quickly. If not, you could be there for
hours or even days before you are found. Even if you can only
dial and not speak, GPS is going to guide emergency services
your way.
Though you may want to turn off the GPS tracking
devices in your own phone, you may want to leave
them on if you have children. This can tell you where they
are if you fear that they may get lost or if you worry about
something happening to them. If you do not allow them to
have a cellular phone, there are other GPS tracking devices
that you can have put into their bags or can be worn on the
body somewhere. If your child is missing, this is going to
be the fastest way they are found as long as someone does
not remove the GPS device.
If you suspect that your spouse is not up to what they say
they are up to, you can find out more about their activities
through GPS tracking devices. You should never go about doing
this unless you are almost positive that your spouse is having
an affair, as it can break trust if done for any other reason
and without sufficient suspicions. These can be put on the car
or truck of your spouse. The GPS tracking devices are going to
record where the car goes in real time, or for playback when
the vehicle returns home.
GPS tracking devices may be great in your car for more
benign reasons. These can help your directional GPS with giving
you the right directions for your trip. Most come standard with
this. They can be used to track your animals if you wish, or
they can help you if you know you are going on a hike, going
camping or on bike ride and you want to be found if you were
hurt. Most GPS tracking devices can be traced online. They are
not always used for secret reasons - so think of them when
safety is on your mind.
